The Starkville Area Arts Council Annual Gala is September 20! This is much earlier than in years past. It is time to purchase tickets. The theme is “A Venetian Evening." It begins at 6:30 p.m. at Hunter Henry on campus. There will be a wine reception with hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a seated dinner catered by Brian Michaels, entertainment by Daniel Jones, and dancing to Bill Cook and Kannawermz. All this for only $75 per person! Attire is black tie optional. This is the biggest fund raiser the SAAC has. It is through our fundraisers, membership dues, and grants that we are able to provide more arts events for the community each year. What would Starkville be without the Cotton District Arts Festival, Forks & Corks, the Everything Home and Garden Expo, Magnolia Film Festival, Art in the Garden, art exhibits in the GSDP lobby, etc., etc. In addition to this, we provide support to the Starkville-MSU Symphony Association, Charles Templeton Ragtime/Jazz Festival, the Starkville Community Theatre, the Heritage Museum, Starkville Reads, and many other arts events each year. We also provide grants to teachers in all the schools, scholarships for entering college students, and scholarships for summer study in the arts. Most recently, the Oktibbeha County Barn Quilt Trail is beginning to make a presence in the county! Tickets may be purchased on our website (starkvillearts.org), at our office (101 S. Lafayette St, Suite 18, 324-3080). Dancing... Dinner... delightful Tickets: 324~3080 See you there! |
