DISCRETIONARY GRANTS & AWARDS
To supplement its two program areas, SAAC also makes grants and awards to build a community through art.
Historically, SAAC has used its small pool of discretionary grant funds to make either Community Grants or Art Education Grants. These two funds have merged into a single pool of funds that can support any project that fits our mission and two program areas, whether organized by a teacher, an artist, or a nonprofit organization. Projects must be located / conducted primarily within Oktibbeha County. Deadline: February 28, 2021 for projects to be completed by June 30, 2020, or until allocated funding runs out. Decisions on applications make take 1-2 months. Please plan accordingly. |

Artist WPA micro-grants!
Due to the popularity of the #StayAtHomeFestMS grant pool, SAAC and Del Rendon Foundation are continuing to offer micro-grants and other assistance to local artists!
In collaboration with the Del Rendon Foundation and other community partners and arts organizations, this endeavor offers micro-grants to artists as well as continuing its efforts to bring Starkville and surrounding communities free arts programming .
How it works:
Have an idea? Want to attend a workshop? Teach an art lesson? Performance live, whether online or on the street? Then submit!
We can hash out details once we have a proposal from you. All creatives (in the Golden Triangle Region) of any artistic discipline (visual, performance, writers, etc) to participate. The artist will propose any sort of artistic content (performances, readings, workshops, demonstrations, etc.) that shows their craft and/or serves artistic and/or educational purposes. These may range from short, 15-minute readings or lessons or demos up to 45-minute sets. If accepted, the artist will provide content to SAAC or DRF via prerecorded video to be posted in various locations!
Stipends up to $75/artist may be available for Oktibbeha County-based artists who have lost income. Artists may submit multiple proposals and may be eligible for multiple stipends. Please apply in advance: decisions are made once/month.
NOTE: Any artist who is NOT seeking a stipend may also participate.
