Artist Statement

Have you ever created something from nothing? If you have and it turned out to your liking, then you may understand why artists, crafters, designers and so forth do what they do. They may have started out by just idly doodling on a piece of scratch paper as a child. They may have started by seeing something that they wished they had and figured out how to make it themselves.

I am a self-taught artist. I am not sure exactly how I got started or why, but I have been experimenting with arts and crafts most of my life. My creations have consisted of things like stuffed animals, crotchet, drawings, and wood working just to name a few. My recent years have been concentrated on digital art. It has persuaded me to explore my memories of the people, animals, and nature that I have experienced.

The drawings that I display are usually incredibly detailed and require months to complete. They are created with digital art software which uses features such as lines, curves, geometric shapes, filters and textures. For the objects, I use examples from family pictures, pictures found on the web and drawings by other artists.

I get immense satisfaction from drawing but what I enjoy the most is when one of my works touches a person in some way.
