Artist StatementTo me the very act of putting paint on paper, canvas or any format is like falling in love with a beautiful woman, which I have done. If it's true love then it will always be in your heart. The act of love and painting are one in the same, they both have to do with feeling in the heART, as art comes from the heart. The biggest part of heart is ART. I consider each work of art as an adventure or trip you have never been on before. I consider the subject to be mainly an inspiration point. No matter what the outside subject happens to be, the real subject should be the painting itself. If the artist makes a valid statement it comes not from the subject, but from the artist's knowledge, skill, and above all--his heart, Gary Walters |
