Cotton District Poster Unveiling

Picture
Tuesday, November 19 marked the beginning of the 2014 Cotton District Arts Festival with the unveiling of the official festival poster. The event was hosted by the Starkville Area Arts Council and held at the GDSP (Greater Starkville Development Partnership) lobby on Main Street. Attendees applauded as Jon Turner, CDAF Co-Chair, unveiled the winning poster and introduced the artist, Dominique Pugh. The poster was selected through the CDAF Poster Competition, sponsored by Mark Wood of Chalet Arts.

Regarding the poster unveiling and design Ellen Boles, President of the Starkville Area Arts Council stated, “We are really excited that it’s a beautiful work of art that was crafted by a graduate of MSU. Even though she is no longer with us in Starkville, we are very proud of her contribution. We are also very grateful for the great turnout and hope everyone will enjoy the art on display tonight.”

The Cotton District Arts Festival is made possible with the support of the City of Starkville, the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mississippi Arts Commission, the MDA-Tourism Division, and it's many sponsors and volunteers.
