Bio/Artist Statement

When I was 14, I created 'Neptewns' as an Instagram handle for my artwork. As a teenager, my art led me to become the youngest artist at Pacesetter Fine Arts Gallery and to create the inaugural Mississippi Maker's Fest Poster commissioned by MDAH & The Two Mississippi Museums. In high school, I trademarked 'Neptewns' to mark my growth.

Entering college, I immersed myself in the art scene, participating in numerous markets and collaborations, including a solo-residency at MacGown Art Studio & Retreat in summer 2023. Over nearly a decade, 'Neptewns' has become a beloved alias.

Usually, I'm Zoé Ishee, an undergraduate researcher in Biology, Psychology, and Cognitive Science at MSU. I also contribute by modeling scientific concepts with illustration. I'm the founder and president of MSU's Neuroscience Club. I've worked as a graphic designer and artist for the MS Entomological Museum. I'm dedicated to creating meaningful art events and projects, often collaborating with Starkville D.I.Y. to engage the community. Whether creating art or organizing events, creativity remains at the core of everything I do, stemming from my lifelong passion for drawing and learning.
