Arts in Education
Dear Administrators and Teachers,
The Starkville Area Arts Council is honored to support teachers and administrators through our “Arts in Education” grant program. These awards are given for innovative projects in a fine arts or performing arts classroom or projects in any classroom or school that incorporate the visual arts, music, theatre, dance, or literature into the curriculum.
Grant applications deadlines to be posted October 23, 2015.

1. Classroom grants of up to $200.00 will be awarded to classroom teachers for projects that affect only one class of students. General grants of up to $500.00 will be awarded for projects that affect several classes, the entire school, or that may affect students for many years.
2. Any faculty member or administrator (Kindergarten through grade 12 in a school in Oktibbeha County) may apply for the grants.
3. Applications might include things like art supplies, materials, resources, equipment, guest artists or performers, and / or transportation for fieldtrips to exhibits or performances.
All applications must be submitted on the Application Form and must include the teacher’s signature and the signature of an administrator at the school. Grants will be judged and awarded by December 2015. The Starkville Area Arts Council requests that each recipient send in the Final Report Form by March 25, 2016 describing the success of the project once the project is completed.
